"Call the Cops" is the fifth preview single from Sleepy Seahorse's forthcoming "Frienditions."
Originally recorded by The Very Most, "Call the Cops" is one of nine tracks on the full-length covers album featuring songs originally written and performed by Idaho-based musicians. "Frienditions" will be released Friday, May 13.
Sleepy Seahorse frontman Joey Corsentino on "Call the Cops":
"If it weren't for Jeremy Jensen, I might not have moved here. I happened upon him and The Very Most's music via MySpace in 2007. I was an instant fan. In fact, TVM's album "Making The Case For Me" was the first music I ever purchased in digital format.
"We struck up an online friendship, and it led to me taking a road trip from Colorado to Boise in early 2008 to see The Very Most at Neurolux. Jeremy arranged to have me open the show with a solo set. At the end of 2008, he invited me back to play the Bah Humbug Festival at Visual Arts Collective. Five weeks later, I moved to Boise."
Corsentino played and recorded the songs on "Frienditions" using a combination of guitars, horns and computer technology. The album can best be characterized as a love letter from Corsentino to the Boise music scene that has inspired him throughout his entire life.
