a nervous feeling that is
always up inside of me
i can’t deny it’s why
i seem a little strange
thought i’d beat it when
i reached a certain age
but it won’t go quietly
and it sure ain’t gonna
disappur entirely
the prescription medication
that i'm taking
ain't alleviating shit
because i feel the fucking same

a member of society
it’s entirely too easy
to be stressed instead
of breezy when i’m
short of breath and dizzy
and my physiology’s irregular
and i haven’t even
been on any painkillers
but i’m thinking there’s a link
between the shitty
thoughts i think and
my body chemistry

which is commonally
called anxiety

i worry too much about anxiety
i’m having trouble sleeping at nighety
2am and i’m up for a bite to eat
gotta tiptoe around the house quietly
because i’m tired but wired
my milk is expired
and damn yo i wanted some cereals
there’s a new fucking flavor of cheerios
got some cuz i’m motherfuckin curious
but also motherfuckin delirious
got distracted by my overactive brain
telling me that i should be ashamed
because i'm falling for corporate marketing
you see the new flavor costs more money but
it looks more delicious than honey nut
second guessing myself
as i walk right past the milk
anxiety ain't fuckin funny

\\\\ yeah ... that's just one example ... kind of an oddly specific example now that i think about it ... but uh ... hopefully i got my point across ... about how ... you know ... i just ... i got anxiety ////
